What is the Rotary Club of Windsor?
The Rotary Club of Windsor is a group of community, business, and professional leaders, and civic-minded residents who gather weekly for breakfast to exchange ideas, have fun, and take action to make the world a better place. Every year, the Windsor Rotary Community Foundation provides tens of thousands of dollars of support and services to Windsor youth, education, senior citizens and many other worthy causes throughout Windsor. Our goals are simple: make a difference, do good works, and make new friends.
Your Shot Windsor is a project by Rotary Club of Windsor to raise money for access for seniors to get COVID vaccines.
Frequently Asked Questions
Vaccine shots are free. So why are you raising money for vaccines? Many, many seniors in Windsor need help making vaccine appointments and getting there to actually get the shot. Many seniors have difficulty using a smart phone or computer to make appointments, lack transportation, or just can’t figure out how to go about getting vaccinated. We in Windsor Rotary are involved with finding appointment spots and providing transportation for seniors in need in addition to supporting Alliance Medical, Circuit Riders, and other organizations to get the job done. This is expensive.
Who else are you raising money for? For years, Windsor Rotary has raised money in support of the KidSpree Back-to-School Shopping Event in Sonoma County. Volunteers shop for kids who need a little extra help so they can return to school in the fall with new clothes and new shoes plus a backpack loaded with school supplies. Students are also provided with haircuts, dental and vision checkups and personal items like toothbrushes.
Why do I have to give my credit card information when I register? You don’t. But in order to bid on items in our Live or Silent Auction, you need to have a credit card registered. We encourage everyone to sign up as a Bidder ahead of time so you’ll be ready to go when the bidding opens.
VIP Wine Tasting Reception – It’s just going to be me and my wife. Do I need to choose a quantity of TWO for the Reception? Nope, each reservation to the VIP Reception gets you 3 bottles of wine and a charcuterie platter with food for two people. That ought to be plenty for the two of you. So you just need to make ONE reservation! Of course, if you have a larger group, you may purchase more than one spot!
Tell me about the Online Bidding for Silent Auction items:
- Once you are registered as a Bidder, you can bid from your computer, your phone or your tablet. You will be able to see the top bids for all items. Our system will warn you if you have been outbid on a specific item you wanted.
- If you want, you can enter a maximum bid amount for a specific item – and the system will automatically place bids for you.
- Yes, there will be some items with “Buy It Now” options.
- Silent Auction Item bidding will open on Saturday, May 1st and remain open until Sunday, May 9th at 5pm.
