When the scheduled speaker heard we are a singing club… He bailed out. Pres John stepped up to be our speaker.

Our program started off with a list of the good things we do for the community. It is always good to see that we show our concern for people of all ages.

We then went on to review the club’s goals. In many areas we are moving in the right direction, but a few areas need support including the Windsor Community Foundation which is $7K short of goal at this time.

We switched gear to convert red badges to blue badges.

Carol Martin let us know that she is here because she had always planned to be a part of the change in her community.

Doug Lyons has been smitten by the way our community offers an opportunity to give back. He researched the various organizations and decided that Rotary is an impressive organization with positive people.

JB Leep has always been involved with his business and now he is anxious to be involved with Rotary and the community.

Robin Phillips had a mentor in her mom who was a president in Kiwanis. Her childhood gave her the understanding that as a citizen you give back to the community. When she became a mother she reflected that she needed to give them the inspiration that her mother gave her by giving back to the community.

Doug Williams reflected on how much he appreciated the club for reaching out to him as a friend over the years. With his retirement he opted to join us in giving back to our community.

Pres John summed up the importance of keeping the Rotary water moving by inviting people to either join a meeting, the club, or just participate in the Lobster Feed.

Pres John is challenging members to consider an elevator speech. He shared Wally’s short and long story… He handed out a flyer and because I have to type the message… Here is a short version:

We’re a leadership organization..

We’re made up of local business, professional and civic leaders.

We meet regularly, get to know each other, form friendships and through that we’re able to get things done in this community and around the world.

Dick Bishop shared that what he likes about Rotary is that no matter what city you go to, you can find a welcome from the Rotary club.

Maureen Merrill shared that we are a service club located all over the world that can accomplish amazing projects.

Bill Bolster shared that Rotary can respond to emergencies and exceed the goal.

Wally Krutz says just speak from the heart and people will be inspired and gravitate towards Rotary.

  1. Marie Coakley says to her Rotary is family.

Pres John wrapped it up by asking us to think about Rotary and what it means to us.

“Go out and do something Rotary!”
